Peace Love Cambodia

Way back in November Deric and I packed up some kids and some bags...

A lot of bags..Deric wishes there were less bags.......

and headed to Cambodia.

I am not sure exactly why....but this might have been my favorite place we have ever visited.

Maybe simply because I got to share it with these guys.

This is evident by the ridiculous amount of photos I took.

It was a land of amazing temples, intense, rich history, and yes more beautiful people.
Here are my memories....

When in Cambodia...see temples.

This is Ta Prohm, which dates back to the 12th century.

I should really know more about the history of Ta Prohm....
however at this moment all I can recall is that Lara Croft, Tomb Raider was filmed here.

Oh and that giant trees have grown ON TOP of this temple....it was crazy!

Our guide suggested we come to this
temple very early to avoid crowds and have great light for photos....

4 kids-6:30am and temples do not mix well...so while kids slept in we
explored.  So nice...thank you Delia!

Can you spot the little buddha face?

Again..enormous tree growing ON TOP of the temple.

After leaving the temple I bought some stuff from these sweet kids!!!
Magnets, bracelets, keychains for all! How could you say no?

After Ta Prohm we headed back to round up OUR sweet kids.
Time to see another temple, Cambodia's pride, world famous Angkor Wat.

(okay, no they don't generally all hold hands..I made them do it)

Angkor Wat...amazing temple dating back to the 12th century..

Angkor Wat, giant playground for my kids!

okay a playground for Deric too!

Ancient temples make the perfect backdrop for a Christmas card photo shoot!
The family was thrilled!
There was this one.....

This one...

This one....

Maybe this year the card should just be the kids?.... maybe not.
One of my favorites!

And the winner is....Christmas Card shot 2014.

Team growing weary of temple viewing. Moving on...

Peace out Angkor Wat.

After a long day of temple viewing, markets and fish massage
are in order! Authentic Ray-bans for all!

Fish can do massage

Kids....moooooooore temples!
On this day Angkor Tom...famous for all the buddha faces-

Another amazing backdrop for taking ridiculous amounts of pictures.
Elephants lent us a ride around Angkor Tom!

Temple viewing troopers

Temple viewing delirium.

Time for some ATV riding through the Cambodian countryside.

One hug before the ride.

Team Dad-
Team Mom-
Team Luke!
And we're off...don't mind those black clouds in the background!

Here a few things you may see while on an ATV ride in Cambodia.

We stopped for a break and to watch the sunset-
No no, those aren't storm clouds behind us.

Over all we had a great time....with the exception of the ride home where it was:
DARK AND POURING DOWN RAIN!

4-wheeler, dark Cambodian country road, pouring rain....Mama did not like...

However, Lilly Bryant didn't mind.  She slept thru the whole thing!

On to the next adventure....

From 4-wheeling in the rain to zip-lining hundreds of feet through the air.

Who planned this trip? Oh, that would be me.

Flight of the Gibbons here we come.
Flight of the Gibbon is an amazing tree-top zip-lining course...

We climbed up, up, up, up.....in order to fly through the trees..

Again, whose idea was this?  Yes I know. Mine-
Time to fly Luke!

(Luke had a few "no way, get me out of here!"moments on this trip-)
For example he didn't quite make it to the other side and had to
be rescued from this dangling position.

No I didn't freak out and overreact.  Nope.

After he made it to the other side he proclaimed "I think I peed a little"

He also didn't wear the best shoes for the zip line experience!
Luke you can let go.

Go Blake!
Couples zip line!

How do I get myself into these things?

For them...yep for them!

Time to head down-
Ahhhhhh...feet on the earth.  Where's the bar?
In case you were wondering...Lilly did this while we flew through the trees.

From ATV's to zip lines to horses....
Time to horseback ride through to Cambodian countryside..

Deric went with the 2 hour package.  We saw amazing things...
But 2 hours on a horse can be...ouch.

This was a school....look at all the bikes!
Little guy off to school..
Little guy fishing..

Cambodian traffic jam
Cambodian cartwheel!

Cambodian way to board the plane!
Time to head home!

Cambodia we LOVE you!
If you haven't been...GO!

Cheers from Singapore.
