School Update

It's all fun and games until you put your kid on a bus at 6:43am in the dark.

School started this week and not without some hiccups.  Like the fact that there are so many kids from our complex going to the American school that they had to add a 3rd bus and the 3rd bus will be leaving at 6:43am.  The other buses leave at 7:05am!  Being the new kid, we get the 3rd bus.  I have been told that the bus people will work all this out and soon we will be at a regular time.  But until then, I will be waking my hardest-to-wake kid up at 6am and putting her on a bus in the dark. Yeah.

Luckily, Olivia is loving SAS.  On the first day they had the new kids come to school at the end of the day.  We walked in to her classroom where they all welcomed Olivia, showed her her desk and cubby (already labeled with her name) and introduced her to all the kids. She was introduced to Beatrice, her buddy for the next few weeks who will help her and show her around. The next morning when Olivia got off that bus at SAS very very early her new teacher, Mrs. Procida was standing there waiting for her!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

ONE HAPPY AND INCREDIBLY RESILIENT LITTLE GIRL AFTER HER FIRST DAY
AT SINGAPORE AMERICAN SCHOOL.

There are still no spots for our troopers Blake and Luke.  They are going to a smaller school called Stamford American School.  However, they are the lucky ducks whose bus leaves in the morning at 7:35am!  (can you see the logistics of my morning? fun)  They both are enjoying school.  Luke is happy because he has a man-teacher named Mr. Adam.  Blake is happy because she has some girls from Texas in her class.  Miss Blake is no fool though.  She has had some weepy moments wishing she was at SAS.  They will be soon!  We remain positive that spots will open up for them.  Now that Olivia is in they are at the top of the wait list and should for sure have a spot for the fall.  That leaves us with this not-so-fun situation for the next 5 months.

Needless to say this has been a hard week FOR ME.  I want my chicks all in one place.  Kids are fine..RESILIENT.  They love the apartment and playing with all the kids after school.
It will all work out.  It will all work out.

HOME AND HAPPY!

SO PROUD OF THIS BRAVE LITTLE GIRL.  SHE MISSES HOME THE MOST
AND HAS BEEN HAVING SUCH A GOOD ATTITUDE ABOUT THE SITUATION.
SHE HELPS ME SO MUCH AND I AM PROUD TO BE HER MAMA.

HAPPY POOPED KIDDOS WHO FINALLY GOT CABLE IN THE PLAYROOM.
IT'S ALL GOOD.  CHEERS FROM SINGAPORE!

(All prayers for Mommy are welcomed)

  1. Believe me there are lots and lots of prayers coming your way. Love you and appreciate you so much. What a strong woman you are. Poor Blake it is really hard being the oldest child, I think you feel everything so much more. I was the oldest child in my family. Know this has been hard for you all, but everyone I talk to says how lucky your family is to have the experience. So happy that you and Deric and the kiddos are having such a good life. Even if sometimes it gets rough. So enjoyed my skype time with you tonight, even it it was interrupted by a broken jar of jalapenos. Lilly is just precious, love and miss all of you so much. Emily just can,t tell you how much you are in my thoughts and prayers. So looking forward to seeing you all in the summer. Love you all so much, Granny

  2. Emily - you may not think it, but you really are doing great! You just keep going, one little step at a time. Before you know it all the kids will be at SAS and you will be so busy running things there you will wish for a few quiet moments. We miss you so much here and think about you every day. Give hugs to those babies for us..we'll see you in 5 months!
