First Week of School

Back to Dubai...Back to SCHOOL!

THE BANNER I CREATED FOR THE PTA!


We met our teachers Sunday and started school Monday.
Bryant kiddos got GREAT teachers once again!  It was a fun day for the kids seeing their friends, reading class lists and meeting their teachers!  

BLAKE IS IN 4TH GRADE WITH MRS. TWILLEY FROM PENNSYLVANIA!

OLIVIA IS IN 2ND GRADE WITH MRS. VARNELL FROM CANADA!

LUKE IS IN KINDERGARTEN WITH MRS. KIKI AND MRS. JIHANE

Pictures above show the kids reuniting with friends from last year!  FRIENDS...so many thoughts on this subject.  I will say that the past few days of school have been fun yet hard.  There are cherished friends missing from the playground and their absence is felt!  We have had some tearful bedtimes thinking about those missing pals.  Tears for friends who have left Dubai and tears for the friends and cousins WE left behind.  As a mom is is SO HARD to see your kids sad!  I just hope that this experience is making them stronger and more flexible in general! I hope it helps equip them with the skills to always be able to walk in a room and make a friend.  I just know that there IS good that will come out of all this constant change.  Don't get me wrong.  I am not always so positive.  Some days I just long for NORMAL!  Whatever that may be....Bryants have a lot more change in their future...but more on that later!

THREE SLEEPY HEADS ON THEIR FIRST DAY.  4TH, 2ND AND K HERE WE COME!

On the first day of school ASD had an Opening Ceremony to start the school year.  It was amazing!  The kids paraded in waving flags representing all the home countries of students at ASD.  There were flags from over 60 countries!  The coolest moment though was when the American flag paraded in and the crowd went WILD!  Cheers for America in the Middle East....AWESOME!

The school week ended with an impromptu 

playdate and some arabic dress up.  

SO OVERALL IT WAS A GOOD FIRST WEEK ....
