A Dubai Easter

Easter for us started like this.  We got the kids dressed for mass Friday morning..because here in Dubai church is on Friday morning!!!  Notice the empty parking lot?  This would be the one weekend of the year that we do actually go to church on a Sunday....whoops.  Makes sense right?  Easter SUNDAY?  Notice the poor kids in the hot desert with sand blowing in their faces....Load up!  Back home!

When we got home we were all hot and sweaty (it got to 103 this day) and decided to take a trip over the The Lakes Club.  The Lakes Club is somewhat of a country club that we joined.  It is NOT fancy or what you might think a country club is.  It is a place where we expats can work out, swim, eat and well yes..there is a swim-up bar!!!  It is a fun place to take the kids on the weekends and this particular day there were Easter festivities going on.  We ate, swam and stayed until we could take the heat no more!

EASTER TAKE 2!  The bunny found us here in Dubai thank goodness!  We woke to hidden eggs, candy and lots of treats.  THANK YOU EASTER BUNNY!  It was so fun watching the youngest B hunt eggs for the first time!  Yet another first come and gone..sniff, sniff

After church we had our wonderful Nalco family over for lunch and easter fun!  The Chews and Wasiks helped us celebrate Easter how we are used to celebrating it.  With a house full of people, food and fun.  We had yummy food that represented each family's traditions.  There was egg hunting and egg dying for the little people.  Big kids hid the eggs, little kids hunted!  It was a great day!  And I must say that so many of the AMAZING pictures you are about to see were taken by one Miss Sarah Chew!  We love you Sarah!
