Back in the Sing of things

Get it?  "Sing" of things?  Sing-apore?

No? Okay...moving on.

Year 4 abroad!  Back to Singapore!  Back to school!  Back to a routine!

Summer we LOVED you!  Summer you went by too fast!  Summer you made me tired.

My dad always takes us to the airport.  Saying good-bye never gets easier!

The bon-voyage airport photo...It's tradition.
Yes, I once again flew back solo to Singapore.  Myself, 4 kids, 12 suitcases, 5
carry-ons..........and one GIANT FISH PILLOW all boarded the plane.
Yes, I said a giant fish pillow.
Well thank you Uncle Eric and Aunt Nancy.

Wings up!
Two 12 hour flights here we come.
Airplane delirium.  But hairbows still in tact.  Sort of.

So what do our first 3 weeks back in Singapore look like-
Let my iphone pictures show you....
A walk to lunch for some well-missed dumplings on day 1!
Trying, trying to stay awake!
Someone didn't eat any dumplings.  Jet lag.

I woke at 2 am to find this going on.  More jet lag.

We met the teachers and started school!
Luke's teacher Mrs. Hogan
Someone started middle school!
Pad locks and all..
First day for the girls! 6th and 4th grade.

Back to boarding the bus in the dark!
Mommmmmmmm...enough with the pictures!
You're embarrassing us! What?
Luke started a few days later and his first day fell on
a free dress day.  I was shocked by his choice.
Back to school for this little dumpling.
It was an exciting day because her buddy Maya joined her school!
Yep..not in Texas anymore.
Back to the Union Bar for liquid lunch!
Back to elevator rides in the early morning
Back to swimming everyday....
Back to birthday parties...
Back to date nights with the husband where he takes me
to eat weird food.  We went out for a japanese dish called
shabu shabu (shab-oo) You dip very thinly sliced pieces of raw
beef and veggies into this boiling pot....It was yummy!

Back to the birthday season- We celebrated Luke's #8
as a family at a cool trampoline place called AMPED
Back to birthday morning breakfast...
Cupcakes to school...
Happy Birthday dear Luuuuke...
One birthday down..3 to go.
Back to the fancy yellow bus...
Back to planning an afternoon snack everyday so
the kitchen doesn't get attacked by 3 ravenous tigers.
This day they got lucky with a Dunkin' Donut. Sometimes
you just gotta eat a donut.
Back to Olivia trying to accessorize up her uniform.
Back to Singapore with a new friend!  My friend Joy, fellow
Dobie Longhorn and Laraiaette (high school) just moved here!  Welcome Joy!
Back to sleepovers....well, an animal sleepover.
Blake brought home Twilight, a class pet from her science class
for a weekend sleepover.  We enjoyed Twilight!
Back to my morning runs and the creatures I run into!
Back to this one demanding creative hairdos before 7am
Back to lunch dates with Dina who takes me to
experience delicious Singapore foods!
My first chicken-rice!  A famous dish in these parts...
Back to this form of communication.....sigh
But thank GOD for it!
Ahhhhh...the things the older siblings teach the baby.
Back to our favorite barber shop!
Back to baseball!  Fall Ball!
Back to a middle school dance.
WHAT!?  Did I say dance?  Yes, Blake gets to be a part of a special
group at school called TDT..That Dance Thing!  It is like a cotillion.
She learns table manners, etiquette, and yes, how to dance with a boy!
Last week they learned the basic waltz box-step.
The boys were on the other side of the room.
Such amazing, sweet girls B goes to school with!
Has anyone seen Blake?

And lastly, back to public transportation.  No more Excursion
that the husband bought me to cruise around Texas in.

Taxis, MRT and the bus here we come.  The bus...The Bryant's
have been riding the bus lately.  The kids LOVE it.
Especially Blake.
Here we are waiting so patiently for the 174 to take us
home from mass.
No Luke those are not for acrobatics.

Waiting to head out for the day....Happy bus faces!
(You WILL smile)

Taxi ride home all by herself!  This one got on the wrong
afternoon bus and had to taxi home!  Only in Singapore
would she be so safe!
And lets not forget walking.  Lots of walking here.

Back in the Sing......It's a good thing!
Cheers from Singapore!
