I am still decorating the villa and getting things exactly how I want them. Would it surprise you that I am still rearranging things? I have an illness....I love to change things around. I have been putting off sharing these pictures because I wanted everything to be just right before I did. I then realized you would never see them if I stuck with that plan.
I read something the other day on one of my favorite blogs (beckyhiggins.com). It spoke to me, no it YELLED at me! Surround yourself with things that you love or things that you use. That’s all you need. The rest is unnecessary.
I LOVE this! It is my new motto with my home, my wardrobe, my LIFE! Do I LOVE it? Do I USE it? If not it must go!!! I know I have too much stuff and I am working on changing that. I am learning that there is a key word in being happy and content with my many hats.... expat, wife, mother, volunteer.
SIMPLIFY, SIMPLIFY, SIMPLIFY
That all starts at home.
So here is our family room....Decorated with the things we use and the things I LOVE..Tomorrow I will share the kitchen!
Would love to hear any comments or suggestions!

warm and cozy...your signature style!!! i think teal would look great for the coffee table. remember when we painted the monster armoire? sneaky!
ReplyDeleteYes it does look warm and cozy. Teal would be great on the coffee table. Maybe on the edge underneath, not necessarily the legs you could do something like what is on the frame from India made of recycled wood. Just an idea...I remember the day you came over and helped me decorate my shelves on St. Cloud, I wasn't sure about displaying the blue moon and stars. You asked me if I loved it!! Of course I did and you said then you should show it. Just a memory. I am counting the days till I get to hug all of you, love you all so much!!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteI think teal would be lovely! Its a personal fav too. But if your changing settings and color themes every now and then, you could use coffee brown. Also, hinter of gold paints in matt finish, in your own personal patterns and style, would make it bright & elegant. You seem like a DIY person, think it will go very well :) Love the warmth the home radiates.
